Summer Essentials

Summer was made for vacations, backyard grilling and the occasional lazy day. Whether you are traveling or just having fun in the sun, your Federal Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS) account has you covered. Many Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) participants submit claims for popular summer items during this time, including:

  • Prescription sunglasses
  • Copays for minor (or major) mishaps

Most over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and drugs do not require a doctor's prescription, making it easier for you to use your FSAFEDS account on important medical purchases. To learn more, please review the
